Rainbow First Birthday

The Okafor family wanted their daughter’s first birthday to feel soft and joyful: pastel colours, a picnic on the lawn and a cake table that would look good in photos for years.

The garden had no shade at the cake table, the party started at 11 AM in late June, and there were twenty toddlers who would want to touch everything.

• Design: A pastel rainbow garland of 300 balloons in six colours, with a balloon cloud over the cake table.
• Comfort: A white sailcloth canopy for shade and low picnic tables with cushions for the children.
• Safety: All balloons were fixed above toddler height and the picnic area used no small loose décor.

The garden was ready by 9:30 AM. The garland held its shape through a hot afternoon, and the family used the canopy photos for their thank-you cards.
