Meet the Founder

Vanessa Colón spent more than a decade building a career in graphic design, creative direction, and hospitality before founding Big Fun Events NJ in 2025. Along the way, she turned her lifelong passion for creativity into a collection of skills, tools, and experiences. Outside of work, she was always learning, experimenting with new technology, and exploring ways to help other businesses bring their ideas to life.

Her love for creating memorable celebrations began long before Big Fun Events. One of her earliest projects was a Roman-themed birthday party for her little brother, Roman. From a handmade toga and a playful invitation inspired by ancient Rome to DIY costumes for guests, craft activities, and a pig-shaped cake, every detail was thoughtfully designed around his personality. It was more than a party. It was a story brought to life.

That same imagination is at the heart of Big Fun Events NJ. Combining her background in design, photography, event marketing, and hospitality, Vanessa approaches each celebration with both a creative eye and an understanding of what it takes to run a successful event. She loves transforming personal details into meaningful experiences and seeing the entire vision come together.

Today, she’s building Big Fun Events around a bigger vision: creating memorable celebrations, partnering with local venues and businesses, and growing a creative team that opens doors for others.
